LEVER SA and Callisto were the representative of the LIFE AMYBEAR project in the two-day LIFE Projects Networking for Nature and Biodiversity event in Greece (GRECABAT, EUROTURTLES, Egyptian Vulture NEW LIFE, Forestlife, Bonelli EastMed, Prespa Waterbirds, Andros Park, SAFE-CROSSING, AMYBEAR, ForOpenForests, Primed, Revultures, LIFE FALKON). The partnership of LIFE AMYBEAR project also includes the Decentralised Administration of Epirus and Western Macedonia and the Municipality of Amyntaio.

At the end of August, a new incident of illegal use of poison baits was recorded in the area of Sklithro in Amyntaio. Unfortunately, four Greek shepherd dogs were poised. However, three of them were rescued thanks to the early intervention of their owners, as well as the intervention of a Member of the Shepherd Dog Exchange and Donation Network. The member of the Network helped the dog owners by giving them guidelines on properly using the anti-poison first aid kit, which is distributed for free through the LIFE AMYBEAR project, in order to tackle dog poisoning.

Three shepherd dogs were killed after another incident of the illegal use of poison baits that took place in the area of ​​Vevi, Florina on July 20, 2019. The field teams of the 'LIFE AMY BEAR' and ' Poison Detection Team Action in Western Macedonia’ projects have co-operated against  another case of a phenomenon that is a scourge for wildlife and a serious public health hazard.

A four-day networking visit held from 27 to 30 May 2019, participating staff from the Forestry of Slovenia and the University of Zagreb, colleagues and partners from Greece involved in the implementation of LIFE projects. Twenty global scientists and experts Foresters, Biologists, Veterinarians, Agricultural Engineers from Slovenia, Croatia and Greece had the opportunity to present the results of nine (9) LIFE projects co-funded by European and national resources.

In the framework of Action C2.1 of the LIFEAMYBEAR Exchange Experience Trip for the management of bear population, which is co-funded by the European Commission and own resources under the LIFE Nature and Biodiversity Program. In this context, an educational exchange experience trip took place at the Abruzzo and Majella National Parks, with the participation of one person from the lead partner of the project, one from NGO Callisto and three from ADIDM Decentralized Administration of Epirus and Western Macedonia.
